Module 2
So this module - blogs. I will admit as well, my name is Elizabeth and I am a blogaholic! I found that once I vusuted one blog, this led me to another and another and another and next thing I knew I had been reading blogs all day and it was time to pick my daughter up from school.
What is a blog I hear you ask. The You Tube Video - Blogs in Plain English - explained it beautifully. With blogs we have the power to create the news, the news we want to share. Having created a blog for a previous Web 2.0 course, I had some understanding, but now I had the time to search blogs, I love them even more.
My favourite blog is most definitely Perez Hilton - a little guilty pleasure which I check each morning to find out the daily celebrity gossip. However, in my day of Blog searching, I did find some more educationally sound blogs.
Being the tech nerd I am - I loved the blog Free Technology for Teachers. It was a great resource for using technology in the classroom. I have added it to my Google reader and will be using it in the future. I also thought Art Projects for Kids was a great resource. Being a very unartistic person this blog is a great resource of ideas and doing things the easy way. I also liked the idea of Boys Blogging Books. This blog encouraged boys reading and writing reviews of the books they read. This is a brilliant idea, not just for boys, but for all readers.
Another Blog I read regularly is the Edcompass blog. I love my Smartboard at school and I love reading about new ways to use it.
In summary, Blogs are great! The only problem is having the time to read them all!
